I hate the gym/exercise

I hate the gym/exercise

All gyms and all exercise?  Have you tried every gym in your area and every sport/activity you can think of?

There are always going to be activities which some people enjoy more than others.  I hate running, but love weight training.  My next door neighbours run every day, but I am pretty sure they never set foot in a gym.  Some people like team sports, others like more solitary pursuits.  We are all different.  So if you’ve only tried the obvious, think outside the box.

What is it you hate about the gym or whatever else you’ve tried?  What does your chosen form of exercise absolutely not have to include?  Try to write down what you dislike and what you find more bearable.  Do you like exercising with a friend or do you need to exercise alone?  Do you like being outdoors, or do you hate being cold and wet?  Do you need variety or do you like the familiar?

Of course all things worth having have to be earned, and fitness is no different – you’ve got to put the effort in, it’s not going to be a piece of cake.  But at the same time you should be able to identify forms of exercise which are more appealing than others.

Here are some ideas to get you started:
